The Haiku Shack Magazine, a new digital publication, focuses on very short poetry and microfiction that seek to make an emotional impact. Every issue is inspired by a specific theme and photograph. Writers are invited to send their own interpretations of one or both for potential inclusion.
The Haiku Shack Magazine is edited by Cendrine Marrouat.

What I am looking for: Meaningful and impactful work that shows instead of telling. I love stories and poems that teach and inspire, just like a good haiku would.
What I don't want: Sexually explicit content, swear words, gory and graphic descriptions. I am okay with tasteful nudity, though.
What I prefer: Work that focuses on my poetry forms and the Flashku. However, I am happy to read and consider other things. NO SIMULTANEOUS SUBMISSIONS, PLEASE!
Previously published work is acceptable, as long as you hold the copyright and have the right to submit it elsewhere.
Fee: $0. However, donations allow me to cover the costs of running the magazine. Any amount helps!
Selected contributors will receive a PDF copy of the issue.
Notes:
Contributors to The Haiku Shack Magazine retain full copyright of their work. If your work is accepted, please wait for at least three (3) months after publication of the issue to submit your piece(s) elsewhere. If you decide to share your work on your blog / social media, a mention of the magazine would be appreciated.
Due to my busy schedule, I only respond to accepted contributors. If you haven't heard from me two weeks after the submission deadline, you can consider your submission rejected.
I will only publish an issue if I have at least 25 entries. Each published issue will be available for free download in my store.
Any unprofessional behaviors, threats and false accusations levelled against me will be addressed in the following manner: Automatic rejection of your submission and indefinite ban from submitting.
While I understand that mistakes happen, it is your responsibility to read and follow the guidelines on this page. I will not contact writers who have incorrectly submitted.
Ready to send me something? I can't wait to read you!
